Things that you forgot to clean and could be grossing your guests

You have guests coming, and your house is a wreck! So, you clean up furiously, vacuum, and scrub the floor. You shout at your husband and children to take off those stinky socks. You clean out the bathrooms and counters. You even cleaned out the windows! All the leftovers are then hidden in your bedroom.

You did great! Perhaps not.

If you have small children or pets, it is possible to miss some disgusting spots that you don't even know exist. It's easy for us to become tunnel-vision about our homes. It is easy to get complacent about our house day in and day out. Sometimes it's hard to stop paying attention. Even if spring cleaning is done, you might not see some.

#1 Guest Bathroom Should Sparkle

We know you cleaned out the bowl and wiped down the counter, but did you clean the underside? How about that space between the seat/tank? Is there a gold mine of undeclared goblins hidden behind the toilet?

Now, place your feet on the toilet and sit down. Look up. What do you see? Are the baseboards clean and tidy? Are the corners of the floors clean? Use Clorox wipes to clean the floor and disinfect it at the same.

Wash your hands now and take a look at the mirror. Look closely at the mirror. Do you see toothpaste or water spots in it? We have cleaned countless mirrors in bathrooms, so we know. You'll always want to leave your place looking better than it was when you got it.

You must clean your guest's bathroom! You can overlook other important things if the guest bathroom is not clean and well-stocked.

#2 Doors, Door Handles, and Light Switches Are Sometimes Forgotten

Are you able to go into a house and find little things clean? Right now, take a look at your most-used light switches.

Are you a bit irritated? You will be, too, when you wash your hands. You can also do the same with the door handles. Take a step back from the entrance door, and clean all door handles and light switches. You should also remember the ones in your kitchen.

This applies to the refrigerator handle as well as the doors of the kitchen cabinets. These cabinets can become greasy and gross. Get your microfiber cloth and wipe down the cabinets.

#3 Did You Clean the Walls

Even if your family doesn't have any pets or children, you likely have a wall people grab onto when turning into a corridor. If you are able to look at it carefully, you might be able to see all the horrible handprints. Take out a magic eraser, and they will disappear!

1. Microwave your sponge to kill 99% of bacteria and germs. Simply put the sponges or scrubbing pads into the microwave at high speed for 2 minutes, then let it cool. According to research, it's much better than washing these in dishwashers. 2. Then, scrub the faucet with waxed paper to keep water spots from forming and fingerprints.

It never ends. This is the harsh truth about housecleaning. It will not clean itself even if you create good routines and habits. It is true. And it can also be true that routines or habits can become a bit chaotic very quickly. Vacation, holidays, sickness, new babies, new puppies, kid activities...

First, you need to have a designated place for everything. You don’t need fancy equipment or spend a lot to organize your pantry. Use small plastic totes/boxes and baskets that you have.
